In 2005, immediately following the devastating earthquake and tsunami in South Asia, AsiaWorks graduates, employees and friends came together to contribute to emergency relief operations in South Asia - by providing funds, supplying materials and mobilising people.

Leadership Programme participants and graduates formed volunteer groups to provide direct aid, which included providing emergency shelter to refugees, establishing warehoused for donated items and delivering truckloads of food, clothing, essential household items and familiar local medicines into tent cities.
The AsiaWorks company, individual employees, graduates, their friends around the world contributed to special relief funds, primarily administered by Andaru Selaras, the AsiaWorks Foundation in Jakarta . Over US$100,000 was donated towards specific relief projects.
Rebuilding has started in some places, and we are honoured to have participated in the worldwide response where people came together in a spirit of responsibility, commitment and contribution.
