Unique team building and personal development programme supports achievement for
underprivileged teens in Malaysia.

Petaling Jaya - AsiaWorks Training Sdn Bhd is proud to lend its support to Teen
Camp Alive II, a four-day experiential training programme for underprivileged
teens from residential homes across the Klang Valley.
In a partnership with the Nanyang Foundation, AsiaWorks has designed a hands-on
seminar with an exciting mix of indoor and outdoor activities designed to foster
teamwork, self-confidence and self-esteem. The event will take place November
10-14 at Swiss Garden Damai Laut,
a five-star resort in Perak.
"It is especially rewarding to share skills and techniques with kids that can help
them become successful adults and to give something back to the community," said
Gordon Sutton, Corporate Training Manager for AsiaWorks in Malaysia.
The training programme includes active participation in lectures, small and large
group exercises, jungle trekking and sports. All the activities place the teens in
the middle of the action and draw on their immediate experiences to foster insight
and personal learning. AsiaWorks has found that by taking responsibility for their
learning and contributing their own ideas and insights, the participants create a
greater commitment to apply what they have learned back in their own lives.
Gordon Sutton will lead the programme, and will be supported by a volunteer corps
of seven individuals, all graduates of AsiaWorks Leadership Training programme.
The volunteers will help facilitate the training and act as role models for the
teens, demonstrating the power of contributing to the community in a positive way.
