Pass Forward the Love

 KAOSHUING – There is a treasure in the mountains called Lioukwei Elementary and a force called LP17 is in search of the treasure.
Kaoshuing LP17 met the 56 children of Lioukwei Elementary School in Kaohsiung County on Oct. 9th. This is our group service and our mission: Pass Forward the Love.
Lioukwei Elementary School is located in Lioukwei township, Kaohsiung County . It sits in the middles of the mountains and does not enjoy the same resources as city elementary schools. Most of the children are raised by their grandparents because the parents work in the cities.
These kids are most familiar with temple ceremonies for those are what they see the most. Their future plans are quite simple, perhaps finish high school in Lioukwei and get a job locally and never leave to see the world outside. Perhaps some families take education more seriously and send their children to schools in the cities. These children are full of hope and passion but lack of self–confidence and ability to express themselves. Some children yearn for love and care due to broken home. Through singing, guided reading, sharing, and acting out skits, we guide the children to express themselves and show their love and care. We want to create love because only through love, these children will have no fear. They will be more confident and trusting, and have great expectations for the futures.
